Roger Camp
Initially I had a vague notion of creating a mini-world in my studio populated by manikins. This population grew exponentially until I had fifty of these subjects about. The adjustable arms and legs allowed me the freedom to imitate the real world in terms of their configurations. Introducing bright and often garish colors seemed to advance the idea of a futuristic world.
Roger Camp is the author of three photography books including the award winning Butterflies in Flight, Thames & Hudson, 2002 and Heat, Charta, Milano, 2008. His work has appeared in numerous journals including The New England Review, Witness and the New York Quarterly.
